'People Day'

Today is Ren Ri, the 7th day of Chinese New Year. This is the day where it is, in Chinese terms, EVERYBODY'S BIRTHDAY! So Happy birthdae to you and you and you! =D And it's also the official day for Lao Yu Sheng (what do you call that in English? Fish Tossing? nvm...)

So after 6 hours of lecture today, obligingly crashed another 1hr+ lecture with a friend who's flying back to aussie soon, I headed to grandmother's place for the above tossing activity. haha.. Oh ya, and as part of Ren Ri, everyone has to eat a dish with 7 different kinds of vegetables. I remembered previous years we had to stuff ourselves because according to tradition, we're supposed to finish cleanly EVERY morsel of veggie in that dish.. or else. Reason is unknown to me, but we speculated it was because in those days, rats were quite a common sight, and they might steal your food! So well. I remembered my grandma setting up rat traps when I was a little kiddy. You'll find a rat or a poor little mouse who fell for the food bait the next morning... ANYWAYS, yeah, so eat your veggies!! We didn't have to force feed ourselves this year though, phew!

OK, this is pretty long due, but here are some recent things and places I went to at the beginning of this year...

Jurong Birdpark
Went there with Dawn and Guoxing. I had a really peaceful time there, surrounded by my favourite trees and nature. My favourite were the Lori birds. They flew wildly in the enclosure and one even flew past my cheek, missing me by just inches! I had to duck! Very cool.
Some random pictures.

Cass' Bday
We went out to Minds@Raffles. Hey, it was my first Minds experience~ hee.. and it was great! Had great company and fun. =) We played this game called Quelf, recommended by one of the staff after Nat asked for a game with lots of sabo in it.... yea, thanks. but it was a fun game! =)

Happy Birthday Cass!

Chinesey New Year

I love Chinese New Years. cause no matter how busy you are in the whole year, everybody must take time out for at least this event. I get to meet all my cousins and relatives again, and revel in our 'fun' of whatever it is that we do. haha. love their company. I shan't post my family photos la, but here's my favourite photo. ALL THE CUZZs... (my dad's side).

As you can see, there're only 2 girls... The rest are either already married or.. somewhere not there... It has been just us 2 girls for a long time, hanging out in a room full of guys/boys. And its semi-sad cos its the last year my other cousin will spend reunion with us... cos she's getting married too!! Although that does mean an extra ANG BAO from her! haha..
( I just realised me and my siblings make up about half in this picture..)

Which hits me. Oh no. If I get married, I'll have to part CNY ways from this bunch of fun-loving people whom I've grown up with and spent my precious childhood with all those good ol' days... noooooo!! The tragedy of girls marrying off away from family... sob. BUT I sure hope this modern century will help that! hahaha... I'll still get to visit at least la. hai. anyway, I'm still young. =) stop being such a mellow dramatic. =p
