well, today was a nice day spent at home.
last night, i watch both Toy Story 1 and 2. so fun. and today, i watched this little dvd i borrowed from the new library at boonlay. its a 2 story-in-1 dvd by Michael Sporn: The Hunting of the Snark and The Talking Eggs (yup, the same one i talked about). i liked the new feel it gave me, somehow old-ish, but the pastel drawings and colouring is just somehow sweet, sincere and down to earth, just the way i like things. hee~ i watch The Talking Eggs twice. its based from a folk fable. really good for the kids, even i am touched by the story. its kinda like some fairy-godmother story. but its nice.
after that, i picked up my thick book of the Toy Story 1 script i borrowed and read through the entire film. it was rather simple and i had expected more. but it was good to 'see' the film all over again in my mind and laugh at laughable moments with my brother as i read out some parts to him.
the air con men came today to check our air con that mummy was complaining wasn't cold. i was showering when they came, so zhiwei attended to them first. the air con compressor was right in front of the toilet. when i came out, there in front of me was a stranger sitting halfway out of the window and dangling one leg over the edge of my 13th floor flat... ok,besides the shock, that looked fun anyway, haha. i wanted to ask him who the person in charge was and if everything was ok and if my brother had told them what the problem was. but all that stammered out of my mouth was, " erm, *pause, er...na ge air con... you mei you ren... er... ..." while looking wide-eyedly confused and pointing indecisively between the door of the bedroom and the door to the living room. haha... sigh. i was saved by him pointing to the living room and saying something i couldn't make out. oh well, i made my quick exit soon enough. i think i'm not used to strangers sitting on window sills appearing right in front of me after i come out of the shower.
well, after finishing my script (and dinner), i got down to finish the book Fallen Leaves. ahh... i just have this anger and disappointment to those people who schemed against this girl, who ill-treated her, who deceived her and were in cahoots against her. and they were all her family members!!! what is this.... its so sad that someone out there has had a miserable life without love from her family ALL her life! from young till she's middle aged. not sure what happened after that though. but still. i mean, she's left with 0% from her step-mum's will! (she had 1 portion from her real father's will, but all that he possessed was 'transferred' to the step-mum's name before he died) while everyone else in the family celebrates with their inheritance... her older sister didn't even care after all that this girl's helped her and her children go through university... evil step-mother... that' s like cinderella, which is exactly the next book that Adeline Yen Mah wrote, Chinese Cinderella. i like the name. so are the names that are cinderella-related, like the Cinderella Man, and Cinderel-LAH. its got a fairy-tale-ish feel to it, like a down-to-earth girl who works hard and is faithful, sweet, humble and has so much inner strength and beauty. i find it so admirable.
my poor daddy. lost all his documents when he dropped his palmdrive at the mrt station. which teaches us all a lesson.
ALWAYS HAVE BACK UP COPIES OF EVERYTHING!!! unless its not important.
i've had my share of disastrous computer-eating-my files kinda nonsense. and those thumbdrives that drives u nuts. so ya. beware those CPUs that Can Punch U... or Can't Please U... ok, corny. a corn a day keeps everyone away. i better stop then, but then again, they're healthy for you!! hehe..
i wanna go shopping.
