The Different Lives We Lead...

well, gloomy days are over. strange wierd tantrums of the soul. i think i'm in need of food...for my spirit.

well, went to talk to prof scott hessels with ellen about film. realised that we've got more stuff to consider and more things to settle.
herm... other than we, we did learn some interesting things from him though. phrases like "on your nose" mean the same as "in your face". hehe. and how singaporeans usually hope for a healthy, smart, studious, obedient child, while americans would pray for an energetic, active, healthy child. it's the education-oriented vs the more..i dunno.. active-oriented? or rather, it's the locals, usually the chinese people, who are more education-driven people. i got started reading a memoir of "an unwanted chinese daughter" called Falling Leaves. i'm not half-way through it, but it's sad enough to wanna make me cry and thank God in the highest of heavens for the life that i have. a blessed family, friends, nice things, freedom to do even the simplest of things, a good education (*see, education, again.), see the world...( like thailand, hee..) etc., and not to live under so much fear, constraints, indignity, injustice, burdens, hate, anger... of course, not that i'm totally, absolutely, completely, essentially, entirely free of all those, but this girl needs a seriously nice shoulder to cry on. so saddening.

its so strange that the first book i read after feeling so low is a heartbreaking story. AND after watching The March of the Penguins. not sure if it helps. haha.. See... i hate seeing animals dying. especially in cold, harsh climates. on ice! and they're just buried in snow (though that might seem a little better than hot, underground soil...) those cute fat balls of puff are just so adorable. my brother asked my mum if we could keep a penguin as a pet. haha.. i've never imagined a penguin's life to be this hard. 4 months of starvation! and they're not even hibernating! and just imagine the tedious journeys and processes of hatching an egg. so many lives are at stake. they're the strong parents who'd brave through thick and thin (cold and dangers) for their children, aka chicks.

Oddly enough, earlier today with ellen at the new boonlay library, i just had the corniest of ideas ( and i think it's brilliant) to name ourselves The Talking Eggs Production. hee~ it all started from this cd rom title, the talking egg. afterall, we'd then be the Three Talking Eggs: Ellen, Jiahui and Yours truely, moi. yeap, eggs who talk about life and all sorts of things. (eggs symbolise the beginning of life anyway, doesn't it? =D )

i'm glad i'm human.
