But quite honestly, I think nothing too exciting has been happening much besides home visits. I've been staying indoors too much for my work which is both a good and bad thing. It's great because I'm trying to save as much money as I can now for my supposed yet unplanned holiday at the end of the year or January 2010. After all, I really am not earning much.
I get to spend more time with my family especially my dad since he's in sort of the same shoes as me: 'We're both working but we don't look like we are'.
I must say that ever since I had this incessant cough for over 2 weeks, it's a good thing my boss & colleagues don't think I'm polluting the office air since I'm 'self-quarantined', so thus the benefits of working from home. My cough is recovering in leaps and bounds suddenly, which is great news. :) [I worry about the haze though.]
Though I do have to go out for meetings and home visits but so far, this is a lifestyle completely different from the hustle and bustle that my uni years has trained me to do. I feel less productive though I really appreciate the rest I desperately need and have the peace and calm to get my head together and do proper reflective thinking. :) Of course, this is only temporary for once production starts, it'll be back to the same jammed packed schedule as before.
Well, I did say that I had time for proper thinking. And reading the newspapers.
For one, I came across an article about how in this age we are all cam-whoring and posting millions of pictures online, facebook, etc... but how many of these photos are of our family?
Recently, my littlest brother had to submit a photo of himself doing what he wants to do when he grows up. So an aspiring chef could have a photo of him
self in a white robe and hat doing some cooking or with delicious food.
Well, he couldn't think of anything else so said he wanted to be a drummer. hee.
What we realised was that of everyone in the family, my littlest brother has the least number of photos of himself. Well, we seldom take out the camera anymore, so that was one reason. AND in the digital age, we don't develop those photos anymore too. It's all stored in softcopy in the computers.
So in my efforts to make him feel a bit more special, I developed a whole bunch of family pictures and some of my own along the way and made him see the difference when he was younger (when he was a lot skinnier) and now (when he has put on weight). haha. And hopefully get him to smile a bit more cos he loves to pull what I call a 'king kong face'. It was an expensive exercise though (135 photos!) and my dad isn't going to subsidize such things for me. So that reminds me of saving money again!!
