Driving... Trains.

I've been finding a lot of joy in learning to drive. I might even go as far as to compare driving to the feeling I get when I play volleyball, although its ALOT LESS physically strenuous. haha. But I'm looking forward to all my driving lessons. Have only done 2 sessions so I only know how to drive at 2nd gear. =) oh boy oh boy..

Yesterday I was on the train to YCK mrt station when there was a wailing woman at AMK mrt station. The doors of the train didn't open like it should have and most of the people on the train started to buzz pass me like bees to crowd towards the source of the cry. Herd instinct, I thought. I wanted to know what happened too, but I figured the poor woman there already has enough attention and decided to stay out of it to give her some air.

Apparently the woman is outside the train on the platform, though her cries could be heard clearly within the train. Everyone pressed their faces against the clear windows to see what was happening. It was a sight to behold. Simultaneously, people on the platform were peeking at the gaps between the train and platform. Man. Did someone get stuck there?!

Yes there was. The horror.
Everyone had to exit through the first carriage door. I was on the platform and find myself next to the wailing woman. Poor woman. She was crying over her mobile and spoke that someone ('kor') fell onto the tracks. (" 掉 MRT"). Then she was faint a few times.

I can't imagine how I would react if someone precious to me fell onto the tracks. There've been so many cases of trains running over people, like on 8 August, the polytechnic couple who were probably being romantic on the train tracks but didn't get out of the way of the oncoming Malaysian train in time. WHy... It'll be tragic irony if they were sitting there thinking of living their lives together after their final year in poly. So sad.

I had to run off for my driving lesson and couldn't wait for the whole drama to unfold.
In the end, I was 30mins late for my driving! what a lot of money wasted. =p
There's a refund for train fares that were disrupted though...
