Desaru-ing

I'm back from my family trip to Desaru. My second trip to malaysia with my family.
Oh it was nice and relaxing. Breathe the beautiful scenery into my eyes and played in the pretty sea. I even 'exfoliated' my mum and brothers with sand while soaking in the sea.

And we saw fireflies! My dad somehow managed to catch 2 and put them in a tiny plastic bag. Their lifespan is only 15days. We were on a boat and sailed down a river, the fireflies were hiding at the riverbanks where trees and bushes were. When I saw them, it felt like my eyes were playing tricks on me. glowing little lights buzzing around.

After a while, it was the stars above that caught the rest of my attention. There were so many stars!! A little bit of it even got reflected onto the river surface, as the boat ploughed through the waters like fingers running over soft, smooth silk. Plus the night sky silhouetting the trees and their reflections in the river mirror. I tried not to close my eyes...

Reminded me of a verse.

"Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket..." - Isaiah 40:15

which brought me to this verse

"Lift your eyes and look to the heavens:
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one,
and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.' - Isaiah 40:26

A conversation went:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kid: Wow! Fireflies!
Guide: Singapore no fireflies?

Kid: Whaa... so many stars!!
Guide: Singapore no stars?

We played with ostriches too. and we were teasing it with food, playing hard to get. hee. mean kids. tsktsk...and we stood on an ostrich egg!! funny creatures.

Met a secondary schoolmate on the ferry ride back. and my mum happened to talk to her mum! and cass happens to know her too! what a small world. =)
