He loved the sun and sea.
One day a fish told him, that on land he wasn't meant to be.
'But I can happily skip there and be oh so carefree'
He says he loves the sun and sand,
Where he slaps his fins on land like hands,
Oh, like music, he sings, like music.
The wind, the trees dance to its tick.
Oh but on land its dangerous and wild,
Animals abound that roar and squall.
They creep, and stalk, they tear you in bulk,
Before you know it up there you'll be out.
Come to the waters, it's cool where it matters,
Save and sound a family without scatter.
Away went the mudskipper
Missing a beat with his flipper
He thought 'O unhappy, ill-thought fish,
You haven't seen freedom outside of a dish'.
Why wouldn't I traverse both worlds sans care
I whose bodysuit fit wet and dry la terre?
While on his belly he carefully lay,
He stepped on a web that was meant to slay.
It had no effect, he flopped straight out
The spider missing his meal called him a cult.
'What creature thou are disregarding and haughty!
A fish out of water, a hypocrite not too subtly!'
'What are you saying, oh black widow spider?
Never can you accuse unless you have tried water.'
The spider scoffed and perked its bulbous butt
'No gills please, I much prefer my face uncut.
Besides I'd be food the moment I enter
The water is source when any be hunter.
Away went the mudskipper
Hearing too much to take his dinner.
He pondered on the dual place
Of where can he find home and grace?
He thought and thought and the sky turned dark
Exposed and alone on a puddle in the park.
He could not decide but before he could
A camouflaged black cat stood where she would
And poised with a good view before her.
The skipper paused to check his breathing chamber
But when he rolled his eyes to perceive better
There was a pounce and they got stuck there forever.
