I finally decided to read this link that my friend gave me. I had put it off long enough.
http://www.letusreason.org/BookR2%20.htm
it concerns the book that i've read some time ago. and only when I read about what this link has to say, I realise that there's so much discrepancy among how we interpret what we read. or what people write. (It's a national or international, i forget, best seller mind you...) Sure, I do believe that writers have the right intentions and heart when they write all these things. But when so many people have questions about it and sees an inconsistency in it, doesn't it make them lose trust in others now? Well, at least they'll start thinking more about what they read, which is good. and believe only what they choose to believe in.
But anyway, at least I feel clearer. Just makes me more careful of what I read. Though I have no regrets even reading in the first place. At least when I read something, it helps to probe me in deeper into something, and when I find out about discrepancies like these, it's like making me find out more.
However, don't you feel like when you see too much of a point of view, you become blind to other points of views? There'd seem to be a view that'll dominate and though that might not be your original perspective, you're swayed to think that that might be true afterall. Perhaps that's how relativity comes about. and that whole talk about absolutism not existing. not sure. But for now, perhaps knowing what you believe in, keeping your faith and understanding it is most important so that when anything else new comes along, you can compare it more wisely. or at least with more knowledge.
I'm just disturbed lately about this whole concept of seeing new perspectives to something that I had held so long in stone. Mind you, i'm very open to new ideas. I love to hear them. but for something that I hold very precious to me, it's tough to have to struggle in your heart and mind, in your experiences, to choose where to stand. I hate that. and i don't hate too many things. When everyone have their very own points of view and perspectives, are they to follow a certain direction? and still be right? or is it not feasible cos it would break many codes? whatever those codes are.
And you can't change other people. One does not have a control over them in their mind or how they want to be like. Even God lets His people think for themselves, cos He gave us a brain. But when some people just refuses to hear what is good? and true? and beneficial? Don't you just want press that doorbell to their brain to tell them to wake up their idea?
Perhaps there really is nothing i can do. People may water the plants, but it is the Lord who makes them grow. So now, just throw seeds and water the plants lor.
