And Thus, this is how the year 2006 ended for me. What a year. It's been such a blast, both good and otherwise. but how can there be an appreciation of the good times without the tough bits right?
Pastor Wilson quoted Socrates, saying that "An unexamined life is not worth living."
And it really is a good thing to sit down and check where i'm headed off to this new year. last year whizzed by so fast that the little pauses i had were quickly slurped up by the new wave of things that demanded for so much attention, making me put aside things that seemed to have another time for itself in the future and tried to meet the 'needs' of the short term stuff. tsktsk..nonono..
It is also towards the end of 2006 that i begin to understand, or at least come to see things in different spotlights. i hope that 2007 will be a year i develop them and see them grow me into a better person.
PWT also mentioned some things that i can't help but put my faith in.
"Forgetting the past doesn't mean that we have no recollection of past events."
"Release our past to secure our future." (by following Paul's example in the Bible.)
It's not always gloomy events in our lives that have to make us think of this statement. sometimes basking in your own glory all the time can blind you too. new year, fresh year, a new slate.
(In that sermon, he said "change a new countenance" and my eyes lit up. haha..)
that said, its now time to let go of some things (with closure), and catch onto what's before me that will bring me to the next steps. honestly, i'm quite excited for this new year. it hasn't always been the case where some years just cross over as usual. maybe something is going to happen. =D
2007 is a year to "Possess the Promise!"
Amen.
